Introduction

The Women in Chemistry Committee in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology was founded in 2004 by a group of graduate students and postdoctoral associates to provide support for female scientists and to raise awareness of and propose solutions to challenges faced by women in science, specifically chemistry.

In its first year, the Committee expanded to include undergraduates, faculty, and staff from a variety of colleges and universities in the metro Atlanta area. The Committee works to provide a broad range of social and professional programs to create a more inclusive, supportive environment for all chemists.

Please feel free to contact Ashley Ringer, WIC Chair, or another committee member if you have any questions or would like to join the committee.
